Throughout the 2014 NYS Museums in Action conference we had several opportunities to introduce the development of a Museum Education Act in New York State. Originally discussed in 2007, the Act will provide the financial support for museums and schools, across New York State, to create meaningful educational programs, facilitate teacher and student access to cultural institutions, and to strengthen the bond between New York State’s unparalleled cultural resources and its classrooms.
This endeavor is the Museum Association’s key strategic priority and we need your input on how formulate this program to best serve your needs. We have set up an online survey to begin collecting your feedback, ideas, concerns, inspirations please click this link to collect more information and to share your ideas https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NYMuseumEducationAct. You can anticipate hearing further from us throughout the spring and summer as we bring this plan into action in preparation for the September Regent’s Advisory Council for Museums meeting.
